GAA To Co-Sponsor Asia-Pacific Aquaculture Expo 2015
The Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) is proud to announce that it is co-organizing the Asia-Pacific Aquaculture Expo 2015 in Xiamen, China, with China Aquatic Products Processing and Marketing Alliance (CAPPMA) from May 25 to 27.
The Asia-Pacific region represents appropriately 85% of global aquaculture production, with China accounting for two-thirds of the total. The Asia-Pacific Aquaculture Expo will provide a platform for international exchange and cooperation among the region’s seafood-producing countries and an opportunity for them to showcase their products, technology and innovation.
GAA signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CAPPMA in June 2014. The two organizations and their members are working collaboratively to advance responsible aquaculture through the BAP third-party certification program in China and globally through the exchange of information and participation in each other’s conferences and forums.
“CAPPMA is an organization that leads and unites China’s aquatic industry. GAA identifies with CAPPMA’s efforts to help the aquaculture sector of the industry to continue to grow and improve. We look forward to supporting and becoming part of the Asia-Pacific Aquaculture Expo,” said Jane Bi, GAA’s market development manager for Asia.
Held at the Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center, the exposition is co-located with the 10th Xiamen International Fisheries Expo. Along with CAPPMA, the exposition is co-organized by China Great Wall International Exhibition Co. Ltd. (GIE) and Fujian Aquatic Products Processing and Marketing Association (FAPPMA).
The three-day exposition, which spans the aquaculture value chain, features around 200 exhibitors and 20,000 visitors from around the world. There are also two concurrent international forums — the Global Aquaculture Forum and the 7th International Shrimp Industry Development Forum.
