Chile’s Multiexport Foods Eligible To Offer Three-Star BAP

Congratulations to Chile’s Multiexport Foods S.A., which is now eligible to offer three-star Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) salmon.

BAP three-star status denotes that a product originates from a BAP-certified processing plant, farm and feed mill or hatchery.

Multiexport’s Puerto Montt processing plant and eight of its farm sites in Chile’s Patagonia region, which earned BAP re-certification last month, are BAP certified. Also BAP certified are all of the feed mills from which Multiexport sources feed.

Multiexport became eligible to offer two-star BAP salmon in May 2013 when six of its farm sites attained BAP certification. Multiexport’s Puerto Montt processing plant was the world’s first salmon processing plant to receive BAP certification in January 2012.
