Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) Addresses Aquaculture Misconceptions with Infographic
The Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) program recently launched a new infographic that addresses ten common aquaculture misconceptions. This is part of a campaign BAP is doing in partnership with the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) to educate consumers about responsible aquaculture, sustainable feed and the BAP program. Among the misconceptions addressed are what farmed fish are fed, how salmon gets its pink color, the use of antibiotics in fish farming, omega-3s in farmed vs. wild fish, and the “tilapia is unhealthier than bacon” myth that has circulated on social media.
The infographic is available in both English and Spanish. To learn more about responsible aquaculture and the BAP program, click here. Join the conversation on social media by sharing the infographic on your channels and tagging BAP!
