Global Seafood Alliance Hails Return of Seafood Expo Global
The Global Seafood Alliance (GSA) hails the return of Seafood Expo Global (SEG), the 28th edition of which is scheduled to take place at Fira de Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain, from April 26 to 28, 2022.
Attendees are encouraged to visit GSA stand 5D201 or register for the GSA Stakeholder Update & Luncheon in Room CC4.2 at the Fira de Barcelona on Wednesday, April 27, from 11 a.m to 2 p.m.
The program will open with a series of presentations focusing on the Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification program and Best Seafood Practices (BSP) certification program, including the Responsible Fishing Vessel Standard (RFVS) and Seafood Processing Standard (SPS).
The program will break for a light luncheon at approximately 12 p.m., recommencing at approximately 12:30 p.m. for a series of presentations and discussion on GSA’s work on revitalizing black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) farming. Last August, GSA announced a partnership with the Bangladesh Shrimp and Fish Foundation on a World Bank-funded project of the Bangladesh Department of Fisheries to uplift the country’s small-scale black tiger shrimp farmers.
Additionally, supporters of the BAP certification program are encouraged to display BAP signage in their exhibits. To coordinate the delivery of BAP signage on April 26, please contact BAP Marketing Manager Elise Avallon.
This is the first time that SEG has been held since the 27th edition was held in Brussels, Belgium, in April 2019. The event will take place in halls 2, 3, 4, 5 and the Galleria between halls 4 and 5 at Fira de Barcelona. SEG bills itself as the world’s largest and most diverse seafood trade event, bringing together more than 29,000 industry professionals from around the globe and more than 2,000 exhibiting companies from 89 countries.
